In a move set to remove the administrative friction from fleet operations and compliance management, VDO and fleet management software provider FleetCheck have joined forces – offering commercial fleet operators a fully integrated solution that brings VDO’s trusted tachograph data and FleetCheck’s Fleet Management System under one roof, enabling full-scope compliance in a single platform.

Compliance powered by VDO's trusted tachograph data

VDO’s long-standing expertise in digital tachographs and legally secure, tamper-proof data analytics provides the foundation that enables partners like FleetCheck to develop new, reliable compliance services for their customers.

WHAT THIS PARTNERSHIP DELIVERS

Integrated tachograph and fleet data: FleetCheck leverages the tachograph data analysis capabilities of the VDO Fleet Cloud to give fleets direct access to tachograph and driver-hours data and, in the near future, key infringement data will also be displayed within FleetCheck – alongside maintenance records, walkaround checks, and other tools for fleet compliance management.

Single login, unified view: This integration goes far beyond a simple data import. Once configured, fleet managers can use a single-sign-on (SSO) to access all key compliance information - from driving times to maintenance status – without switching between systems.

Driver hours compliance simplified: Tachograph analysis from VDO merges seamlessly with FleetCheck’s scheduling and maintenance data to reduce administrative effort and minimize the risk of compliance oversights.

Enhanced safety and compliance: The combined solution aims to go beyond basic regulatory compliance – supporting fleets in building a stronger safety and compliance culture rather than simply meeting legal minimums.

POWERFUL BENEFITS FOR FLEET OPERATORS

For many fleet operators, tachograph data, maintenance logs, driver checks and compliance documentation are managed across multiple systems – often requiring extra logins, manual data transfers, and resulting in fragmented oversight. The VDO–FleetCheck integration changes this completely.

Reduced administrative overhead with real-time insights: No more switching between systems or manually consolidating data. All information is available via a single login to the FleetCheck platform, with real-time access to driver hours, driver availability and working-time compliance reports in one place.

Improved and automated compliance: With all data – driving hours, maintenance, inspections, walkaround checks – easily accessible through a single sign-on (SSO), fleets can prepare more easily for audits or regulatory reviews and respond faster to compliance queries.

Time savings and operational efficiency: Seamless data flow between both platforms reduces administrative workload and eliminates redundant processes, freeing up fleet managers and drivers to focus on core operational tasks.

Reduced costs and compliance risks: The integration also helps fleets avoid unnecessary fines and lower operational costs through accurate reporting and automated alerts, supporting smooth and compliant daily operations.

THE FUTURE LANDSCAPE OF CONNECTED FLEET MANAGEMENT

Today, fleets using FleetCheck already have the option to integrate VDO tachograph data directly into their compliance and fleet management workflows.

Combined dashboards, that will be powered by new VDO APIs, are planned for the first half of 2026. This opens the door to earned recognition scorecards, managing driver infringements via the FleetCheck Driver app, and additional enhancements that will provide fleet operators with even more ways to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.

Partnerships like the one between VDO and FleetCheck highlight the strength of an open-interface approach, especially when the right expertise comes together. By combining trusted data with compliance management, telematics and driver support, such partnerships create an integrated ecosystem that enables fleets to complete their compliance tasks within a single system, rather than accessing data across multiple platforms. Centralizing data reduces the risk of missing key compliance tasks and simplifies processes such as payments and support, while significantly reducing data fragmentation across fleet operations.
