The WorkshopTab 2 is the latest "all in one" solution for the § 57b inspection directly on the truck. The smart tachographs can be checked and calibrated directly on the vehicle. The software takes care of the paperwork in the background. The relevant documents are transferred from the vehicle to the printer at the push of a button. The WorkshopTab 2 not only reduces sources of error, but also the time for the checks. With the WorkshopTab 2 you are well prepared for the challenges of the coming years.

KITAS 4.0 DOCUMENTATION

With the new calibration routine, KITAS 4.0 defined for the respective DTCOmust be tested and registered together with the respective seal during initial installation. This also ensures the traceability of the seal. With the integrated WorkshopTab camera, you can easily register the KITAS and the new seal by scanning the QR code. VDO also offers you a practical cloud solution for the corresponding documentation of KITAS 4.0 and the new seal.

GNSS-CALIBRATION OF THE DTCO 4.0

The new intelligent tachograph DTCO 4.0 uses the GNSS global satellite architecture. An appropriate GNSS calibration is required to ensure that the vehicle position can always be accuratley indicated. This calibration can be performed easily directly via the WorkshopTab. No additional equipment is necessary. If you are unable to receive a sufficiently strong signal in your workshop, we offer you the GNSS Repeater Kit, a technology that amplifies the satellite signal. This allows you to achieve optimum measurement results even in closed rooms.

DSRC-CALIBRATION

The WorkshopTab and a corresponding accessory - The practical DSRC Meter from VDO - make testing the DSRC interface intergrated in the DTCO 4.0 a breeze. The DSRC Meter simulates a check by control officiers and sends the result to your WorkshopTab. It can either be mounted permanently in your workshop or on a tripod.

Tachograph updates

The new EU regulation requires mandatory map updates to be regularly installed on the DTCO 4.1, which must be carried out at the latest at the next upcoming periodic tachograph inspection.

The WorkshopTab is equipped with the appropriate software for this purpose and the WorkshopTab DTCO update cable is required for this purpose.

You return your old device and pay a reduced purchase price for the new WorkshopTab 2. Existing test software and licenses will be transferred.

Compatibility note for third-party products

With the introduction of the Smart Tachograph Version 2 in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/799 in accordance with Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1228, in our case DTCO 4.1, the regulations for periodic testing of tachograph systems have also changed in part.

Smart Tachographs Version 2 must be updateable in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/799 in accordance with Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1228 and a map update prescribed by the EU may result in a mandatory update of the tachograph.

This update must then be carried out at the latest during the next periodic check. With our WorkshopTab, this is proactively pointed out and updates can be carried out directly in a user-guided manner.

There will also be a separate update software from VDO for the DTCO 4.1. This software can then be used to install all DTCO 4.1 updates. The software will be available before the first DTCO 4.1 update and can be installed on Windows 10/11 operating systems.

The exact technical requirements will be announced in due time.

The WorkshopTab patch version 4.9.7 also adds the ability to activate and calibrate the SE5000 Smart 2.

As far as technically possible and if other manufacturers provide appropriate update software, it is our goal to also integrate the update function for all other Smart Tachographs Version 2 on the market into our WorkshopTab in order to offer workshops the best possible service.

FUNCTION MATRIX

With the Workshop Tablet you can make any settings for the different DTCO variants, whether OEM variant or universal device. Important: Programming DTCO 3.0 universial devices according to the various vehicle manufacturer paramaters and setting up individual CAN data acquisition is only possible with the Workshop Tablet.

Due to the bluetooth connection between VDO BlueMeter and the Workshop Tablet, 20-meter run calculating the number of electric impluses per kilometer of travel (K value) is performed completely wireless.
