Yes, there are a few requirements to use the VDO Fleet App:

  1. DTCO 4.1a software is required to use the Bluetooth functionalities with the app. Most trucks registered in 2025 already come with this software version. Older trucks equipped with a DTCO 4.1 will receive a software update to version 4.1a or newer during their next calibration.

  2. App update: You must have the latest version of the VDO Fleet App installed on your smartphone.

  3. Bluetooth connection: The app uses Bluetooth to connect with the DTCO 4.1a for remote control and data transfer.

  4. VDO Fleet account: To use the features of downloading data from your DTCO 4.1a and manage your reminders and vehicles, a VDO Fleet account is required.

The app is available in the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

The VDO Fleet App, with a DTCO 4.1a or newer software, provides a comprehensive set of features for both fleet managers and drivers. These include:

  • Bluetooth connectivity to easily connect with the DTCO 4.1a

  • New driver features without VDO Fleet account

  • Manual entry: Drivers can create and send manual entries directly in the app before inserting the driver card

  • Remote control: Send activities from your smartphone to your DTCO 4.1a.

To update the VDO Fleet App, go to your App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). If the update doesn't happen automatically, you can manually check for updates and install the latest version.

The app runs on Android (version 6.0 and above) and iOS (version 13.0 and above). Please ensure your device meets the minimum requirements.

The VDO Fleet App is currently available in the following countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

    Ensure that you have the latest version of the VDO Fleet App. If not, please update it through the App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Reconnect your Bluetooth connection
    Disconnect and reconnect your Bluetooth connection to the DTCO 4.1a to refresh the pairing.

  3. Restart your device
    Sometimes a simple restart can resolve app-related issues.

  4. Check your internet connection
    Make sure you have a stable internet connection, as the app requires it for certain features.
